Default Installed the 29.5" M/T ET Drags

Took off the 28" Hoosiers and installed the 29.5" M/T's. I did this without mini-tubbing. Has anyone else done this without mini-tubbing? Took a little work but they fit.

I will be using 27" or 28" slicks for n/a passes and these 29.5's for nitrous.

I will try to get some better pics during the daylight tomorrow.

29.5 X 10.5 X 15s

I had to beat the crap outta my wheel wells to clear the 28's. I pulled the tires the other day and found a few more spots where they rub when they grow. So out comes the BFH again

What does the taller tire do for you when running the N20?

Mathematically lowers the effective rear gear number. The taller the tire the more mph you can get out of a given rear end gear.

You can also get better 60ft times with a taller tire as long as you have enough power down low and the right gear combo.

I will be able to trap up to 140+mph with the 28" tires for n/a but will need the 29.5" tires to get me up to or past 155 mph.

I am running a 4.11 gear, 4,400 stall, and will spin the motor to 8,000 rpms.

Why so tame, is it your daily driver? Looks good! I heard when you go go 8s, its a pretty crazy sight going down the track from inside the car.

I have 3.89's in mine and I think i'm going to keep those and give the n2o a try on that..... i gotta look at the gear calculator again to figure out if i've got too much gear for 155mph and 8000rpm shift points..... with the 28x10.5's....

and tony what calculator are you using? Cuz the ones I showed i punched in 28" tall tire with a 4.11 going 155 thru the lights and it says 7490RPM's..... and i didn't even account for tire growth... are you considering the torque converter slippage as the reason for added RPM?????
