Default LT1 Water Pump Drive?

Hello!

Guys I have had an electric water pump on my car for over 4 years now. I am replacing it with a new conventional water pump. I do not remember the direction the lip faces on the drive (pictured below). Is it toward the pump or toward the timing cover?

Thank you for your help in advance!
Chris Macellaro

Oh **** I did this the other day and it never even dawned on me to look at that! I think I flipped it around a couple times til the water pump seated but I never paid attention to that! I guess we'll see if I have any leaks or anything down the road but it seems ok.

I don't know why I am freaking out, seems like I have never seen o-rings on mine and I've had it off 4 or 5 times. Reading your all's posts makes me paranoid, lol.

Nor did I.

If you were confused by the before post I was saying the Ringed/Lip part faces the water pump.

No I wasn't confused. I just remembered seeing something about o-rings in the past and when you referred to it as "ringed," I started thinking maybe I should have used o-rings. But then I remembered I never used them before. Just get a little paranoid about the car cuz it seems like it's something all the time. This past weekend, I drove it a good distance and it was overheating and then I burned a wire on the starter and I had to have a buddy haul it in. You know how it is!
