Default Should i sell my car in peices?

I have been trying to sell my car, 94 Formula M6 109k miles, for $4,000. I havent had much luck, the car is not in bad shape at all. Can I get my $4,000 if i part the car out? Everything is in perfect running condition. Engine has a brand new ignition system. How much should I start prices at for certain parts?

You could easily get more money by parting than selling as a whole, but it always sucks to see a perfectly good car get parted out.

yeah no doubt. if i was looking for a project, i'd pick it up for $4k. geez that seems cheap to me. well good luck. You can get more for part out's but it sucks, like said already, to see a perfectly good fbody go to peices.

I Hate to sell it, and Hate to Part it even more, but me and my fiance are buying our first house, so I need to get the loan paid off that I bought it with.

How much do you think some of the more valueable parts are worth?

Well, you could always sell the tranny set up for 1500. Then the Engine and all that stuff for another 1000ish depending on miles, sell individual parts in the bay and around it for maybe another few hundred, then sell the shell for 1500-2000. That way, you're not really destroying the car.

I just think the price of these old F-bodies has gone down a whole lot. If you try parting it out, then you're going to have to deal with shipping or delivery and then you end up speding money as well. Try selling it for less or with "obo". I'd be happy to get $4k out of mine, but it's not in perfect condition right now.

You can make more than 4k parting it, I recently parted out a 95. It is a LOT of work though, so make sure you have the time to do it.

I could always put Full Coverage on, and then wreck it, It would be 1 less F body, so maybe the price will go up a bit on yours.

I think I get carried away with the commas sometimes.

just let me know what you do i guess.

Bear in mind there are no gaurantees when you start selling off parts. You may sell a few small items and an odd major piece, but things could change thereafter, and then you're left with half a car, and only half the money you need.

I don't think you would really come out ahead, maybe break even. But then you factor the labor and b.s of selling off parts makes it seem not worth it. You could get near what you want if not what you want by selling it whole since it isnt an unrealistic price and you say the car is still clean. Most cars that get parted are usually wrecked, where the car isnt worth much as a whole peace since its not worth being reused for any thing.

I think you would make a bit more parting than you would selling. Would it be worth the hassle and the haggling? Probably not, but that depends on you.

Im just looking at all the alternatives, because its been for sale for quite a while now, and i haven't sold it. I am getting ready to buy my first house, so i really need rid of the payment.

Hey Roudy94- Have you ever noticed that sometimes you look at your car, it looks blue, than sometimes it looks green? Mine is the same color and I have that problem so I was wondering if i was just seeing things.
