Default Passenger side plug wires

Well I'm about to help a buddy of mine put some MSD's on his LT1 and I've done one wire on the passenger side before but I was wondering if there was an easy way of routing the new wires. Last time I did it on my LT1 I pulled the alternator off, pulled out the old wire. I then had to pull the boot off of the cap and rotor end to get it to fit behind the pulleys and into that tiny groove made for the wires to run down. Is it ok to pull the boot off of an MSD wire? Or is there something I can pull off the front of the motor to make this easier? Thanx

if you look down under the alternator near the battery there is a little curved piece of metal that is big enough to slide the boots under, it is still a pain but they will fit, then you move the wire back up to where it fits in the grooves under the water pump.

Ok thanks for the help bro. But do you think it's ok to pull the straight boot off...where it hooks up to the cap?

I would not do that.

If you unbolt the power steering pump, it will allow for a bit more clearance between the hard line and the acc. bracket.

OR, better yet, just remove the ps pump.

Well it's not a question of clearance and getting enough room to get in there...its about getting that wire behind that hard line. I know the boot is too big to fit through there unless its removed.
Or does it slide behind with no problem...cause the last time I had to replace a wire on the passenger side I took off the boot to get it behind the hard line and down to the opti.
