Default Cam clearance!

Just finished a 383 about a month ago with a custom ground cam 230/236 530/540.... I have the eagle street/strip kit in the bottom 3.750 crank and i believe 5.7 or 6.0 rods not exactly sure.. I need to know if i can run the gm 847 cam with that setup or not i want a more radical cam and i know i can;t get to big because it will slap the pistons! please i need some input in this!

From my experience you'll need to figure out the specific rods and rod bolts along with the length. Then you still won't know if the cam will clear until you get it, make sure its ground on a small base though. This will help to ensure proper cam lobe to rod bolt clearance. But like I said even then you might have to grind the rod bolts/rods. Good luck.
