Default 52 mm or 58 final decision?

Ok I just did a post prior to this one. Ok need your deal or no deal to just go straight to the 58 or just buy a 52. I will add headers as well but I dont want to remove the whole manifold to port. I just want bigger holes If I have too. If I buy the 58 do I have to port prior to installing.

Yes, you HAVE to port it. I already made a thread about putting a 58 on w/o porting. Consensus is, it'll just create too much of air turbulence/vortex and only hurt. It's why mine isn't installed yet. I plan to do that link I provided in your previous, with porting it ON the car. We also decided using a small-engine stone cylinder hone would work really sweet. The hone should only be like $15-20.

I ported mine with it on the car, stuffed the intake full of rags and a Dremel.

pull the intake off and port it. its super easy to pull the intake and youll be done in the long run. Dont skimp corners... plan for the future so your not buying parts twice. Saves money in the long run too.

yea, they bump up the line pressure for firmer shifts because with the 58mm your gonna loose vaccum so it shifts softer. So do that then send your comp. to madz28.com and he will set you all up for the 58mm.

Going to a 58mm allows for more horsepower potential from future mods. I've known a few people that went with the 52mm intially only to buy the 58mm later on. While opinions vary, I recommend that you pull the intake off the engine rather than port it when it's attached.

Pulling the intake off is good and swell, but my 'beef' with that is the fact that his intake isn't leaking now, and pulling it off is only going to leave the potential of it happening. Yes, it'll happen sooner than later with it stock how it is. However can anyone honestly tell me, that sometimes when you mess with something that's doing it's job just fine, the **** hits the fan? Thats what is keeping me from pulling it.
