Default Whats A Stripper Model???

Alright, I know this may be a stupid thread to post, but just about in every thread I see "stripper model" or "stripper verson" and I was wondering what it means. If anyone could tell me, it would sure help out my headache.

Just means the car didn't have many options from the factory. It was "stripped" from the factory. So if someone says that, it's referring that it doesn't weigh as much.

Usually a hardtop is involved with the word "stripper model." I'm not sure if that's want makes it one or not. Other things like cloth seats and not the monsoon speakers. I know the_merv has one. Ask him what options are/aren't on the car.

Usually "no power options" designates a stripper car.

Stripper Model is a hard top, so the strippers can dance up there and you don't have to worry about broken/scratched T-Top glass.

Nothing electric (except maybe locks, I think they're standard). Cloth seats, hard top, I'd consider an M6 since that's the standard option (Automatics are an option on every vehicle I've seen with a manual, and more expensive), I think you could even get them w/o A/C on non LE1 models, normal stereo and speakers w/o steering wheel controls, no convenience packages. Think of a base model car with a V8 and T/A appearance package.

It means that I am posting all over the place..

What it means is that the car came with the very basic options from the factory. Mine is one of them. It's the base model Hardtop Chassis, and the only extras in mine were AC, Cruise Control, and Rear Window Defrost. It came with a Cassete Player instead of a CD Player, I switched that out, but then the CD Player broke so I am back to where I started..
It had AC, but I took that out cause it broke. The Seats are Fabric, Manual Adjusting, the Doors are Manual Windows/Manual Locks, and that's it.

Basically it's no power, no comforts, and the essentials.
Pretty much 2 Seats and soon a big-*** Engine..

Got Manual Locks on mine..
I am willing to bet that the T-56 was a more Expensive option than the 4L60E...

Well, every single (yes every single) other car I've seen, the auto was more money. I had some folks laugh at me when I said "Why do you think they call the manual 'standard'? It's standard equipment". So I went to all the dealers sites and checked. Any car that comes with both a manual and automatic, the manual is standard equipment, and the auto is the option and $300-$1700 more.

I wouldn't label it as that..the True Strippers have Manual options only..not trying to dog yours, but that is the way they are. All the 1LE Cars that I have seen have Manual Windows/Locks.

i have a hard top with cloth seats, and no rear defroster, but i have power windows and locks. i think mine is the rung right above a 1sc. they weigh about 3380 pounds (ls1) and are pretty darn rare. i wish i had one, it would save alot of hassle.

1LE, I knew LE1 looked totally wrong lol

As for them with A4s, it's not like 1LE = race only lol Some people just can't drive a stick, or don't know how. So why make it so they can't shell out the extra $$$ for the 1LE package That'd be bad salesmanship!

Some places the Rear Window Defrost on certian years and up is required for inspections..

Mine weighed in at 3320, that was the fully loaded car when I first bought it. I might be back in that weight area when I get done, I have some good stuff goin back into it, and the weight can help keep it planted..

I wonder if the T56 weighs a little more than the 4L60E?? Mine weighed in the low 3400, on a full tank of fuel and I think I took my tools and junk out of the car, left the jack and tire in there.

Is a "Plain Jane" another word for the stripper model? I've heard it a few times but wasn't sure if someone just made it up. A plain jane has the same characteristics as a stripper model.

Not all cars are like that though. The 04+ GTO's were standard with an auto and the t56 was about 7-900 more.
