Default rebuild LS1 vs switch to LS2

Can you share what u know about this pls.
My LS1 01 ss M6 has started burning oil 61000 miles, was always driven easybefore we bought, then we started driving harder near redline and then blue smoke.
Had comp checked was all 170 -175, cyl 5 had fouled plug with 180 psi.
Conclusion ? broken rings, bad valve seals?
If I pull engine to freshen many hours and I dont have proceedure, wonder what I'd do for more HP 400 be good, or transplant crate LS2, but will this work with what changes.
thks

Wrong section, I say rebuild the LS1, forged short block with a good h/c set up, will make god power and can handle a decent hit of nitrous

Wrong forum holm skillet. Should've bought an LT1, we don't burn oil till 300K

I'd say valve seals, but I don't know LS1s

Get a new GM LSx Bowtie Block P# 19166454 gmpartsdirect should have all the info my PDF does.

Or the LS 364/440 (That's it's name) crate engine. (Carb setup on LS2)
364ci 6.0L 440hp/404tq P# 17802134
