Default LT1 upgrade

I currently have a 94 Camaro with a 3.4L engine. I've always wanted a Z28 or SS that was a 4th gen. I was offered a short block LT1 for $200. It has about 90K on it. I was wondering if it would be a good idea to buy it and make a high performance engine out of it. I'm looking to get maby 450-500 horses from it without nitrous or turbo's/superchargers. I've herd some disaster stories about people trying to swap engines from their 4th gen camaros. All the work would also be done in my 2 car garage, so theres not a lot of room there. I also dont have a lift. I've been reading some of the posts about people doing engine swaps, but i havent really read much about people swapping a V6 for a V8. This project would also not be an over night swap, it would probibly be a 1 year project. I was curious to see what your opinions are on it.

it might be actually cheaper to go out and by a LT1 f-body instead of doing the swap, youll end up spending the same amount in parts, unless your able to get a donor car with what you need.

Dont even waste your time on the swap. Go out and find the car you want. SS WS-6, Whatever. The engine swap is a bad idea for many reasons., the least being, that the struts and springs should be exchanged to deal with the extra weight... Wiring. lsd in the rear vs the open diff in the v-6. You wont be happy with just the engine swap.

Yep, you'll want a donor car.

And don't let higher miles scare you on an LT1. 90K on an LT1 is like 60K on other cars
