Default transmissions

i have a 96 trans am.will a transmission out of a 99 trans am work in mine

not unless you change clutch setups to the ls1 style. theres no mount in it for your clutch fork and the input shaft is longer on a lsx six speed.

Auto or Manual?

Your going to have to get new bellhousings either way.

i guess you can tell what issue i am dealing with from a tranny company. i won't say any names.
