Default LT1 tach just died?

Car is a 93 TA with a A4.

Just put the interior of the car back together last week, and have been driving it around quite a bit since. Everything worked fine. Today i decided I was going to wash it, since it had been sitting in the garage and the shop and was preety dirty. Washed the outside, cleaned the inside, and put the last panel back in the car. The knee pad thingy on the drivers side. (the peice with the hatch release button on it). I go to start the car, and the tach doesnt work. It doesnt crank longer then usual or anything, and it runs just fine. All the other gauges work. Well, im assuming the speedo works I didnt really move far enough to check that, lol.

Anyway, WHILE CRANKING the tach works. IT prolly shows like 4-500 rpm or so, once it catches tho the tach drops down to the bottom and doesnt move when you rev it up.

All the fuses are good. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

Joe

Wire COULD be loose. It should be on the coil, if it's anything like my 91 was (same looking coil).
