sounds like the in tank float is stuck, or the sending unit is bad. bang on the tank a little, or push the back of the car up and down, and back and forth. these sound stupid, but worked for me before. Also the only GAUGE called a tach is the Tachometer, which displays engine rpm. The rest are simply called gauges IE gas GAUGE

Yea, he's quick, we all know this lol

Also, GM gauges SUCK. Well, the senders do, maybe it's the gauge, I don't know. They are fine till about 1/2 tank, when the gauge just DROPS down to E. Every GM I've own is like this too (2 Suburbans, 1 Park Ave, 2 Firebirds). I ran out of gas this weekend

Just gauge in general. Even the Tach is technically a gauge.

Thats because of the shape of the fuel tank, not just because the gauges and sending units aren't great.

take some hard corners and a few hard stops. I have had mine stuck 1 time and after some spirited driving it gave in and went back to its old ways. ( It happened after my car had been under 1/2 a tank for along time, and then I filled up)

5 dollars gives me a 1/4 of a tank....10-20 dollars gives me a 1/2......35 gives me 3/4 and 43 gives me a full. F-Body gas gauges suck.

For some reason this scares me..

J/p..

I figured out the other day that I have left a little under 1/4 tank in the Camaro, it's been sitting for about 4 months. I'm goin to put some Dry Gas in it, and fill it up with fresh Gas so it mixes up. That should work. If not, some Everclear will spice it up..

It's a sending unit, you goto the parts store, that's what they're there for. Or in your case, take it to a shop since it involves more labor intensive work that changing your injectors (AKA spark plugs )

Who is this guy?

I must be lucky, I never seem to have any issues with my gas gauge. I did find out the hard way though, E means E. Not like my third gens where you could go for a good 20 miles or so on E, nope as soon as the needle touched E, my car died.
