Default engine stand bolt size

Just want to make sure I pick up the right kind tomorrow. Stand has 2 inch spacers, 3/8th bolt 16 thread that go 1 inch into the block? Also grade 8 or grade 5? I hear a lot of people saying grade 8 because of their strength, but have also heard grade 5 is better, not because of strength (they will suffice and then some), but because they will bend, and not break like grade 8's would. Thanks.

Default

Got it figured out. I was right those were the correct sizes. I also upgraded my spacer bolts on the engine stand, since the ones that came with it were cheap ungraded garbage ... but you get what you pay for ... 40 dollar engine stand, works for my purpose. Time to tear the shortblock down, and send it off to the machine shop ... 396 should be done in 5-6 months ... I am taking my time, and doing a lot more work. Progress will be recorded ... from there who knows.
