Default Is my opti-spark broken?

After making numerous useless attempts to get my new motor started, I pulled the opti and noticed that it did not spin in perfect circle, it spun in larger circles, much like a rotary engine. Is this normal?

I also noticed around the spline that the spring holding a rubber grommet on the shaft was not on correctly. I looked into the timing cover hole and saw a similar spring lodged in there as well.

Do I need a new opti? I can remove the spring with tweezers, but should I remove the cover as well to be sure of any other possible debris?

if your gonna replace the opti spark get a dyna spark brand its worth the money look it up online itll be the last distributor youll ever buy

Or get a remy Opti and do the EDIS Coil Pack conversion.
