Those boys aren't ****** around..

What gets me is that they run it to the max on a Dyno just after building it, then say it should get more broken in..
Common sense says wouldn't you want to break it in first, then hit the Dyno..

I don't read Cam, but if I understand this right, that's got quite a lot of duration. Imagine more lift (if it could)

EDIT: For all the money stuck in it, he could've at least had the water neck removed off the intake

They didn't say the Lift, just gave how big the Lobes were from the flat of the Cam to the peak of the Lobe. You would think that they would give it..

Wouldn't it be .440 X 1.7 for the rocker ratio? Equaling .748 total lift?? I might be wrong, but with 1.5 rockers it would be .660 lift which is a decent sized cam IMHO

I always thought when they listed cam specs it was an auto 1.5 Rocker factored in. Is that .440 w/o that factored in?

If it IS .748 then I retract my previous statement (of needing bigger) heh

This is usually how lt1 cams are listed in catalogs yes. This guy probably didn't do that cause he's not running a 1.5 rocker.

I would say 1.6's..not 1.7's with that. That makes it a .700 lift, sounds more applicable..
That's still a dirty little Engine..

I know the guy as well. His name is Fran, he helped my friend with a nasty blue 99 ss camaro he bought from one of Frans buddies that lives in Texas. This camaro I speak of sat at the top of the 'fastest LS-1 's on LS-1 tech 'thread for a good while. I just searched for about an hour and cant find the thread. Maybe was deleted after timeslip database was started cause the thread was on the honor system.

N.E. way, it sucks to see Fran sell the motor, but everyone needs to buy a house sooner or later....Chris

i built this with the intention of being the fastest nitrous lt1 in the world.
Get in line....

700hp out of an LT1 natural is quite possible.... Reading that parts list it's almost identical to the stuff Tony and I have in our motors.... But he's got a nice set of heads and that motor is badass and using badass parts... I spent a bit more on rods and crank but other than that it's all REQUIRED for that power level. I wanted the 215 RR"s but they were no longer available so the 227's had to do.... The only thing I wouldn't have done is the carb. I think tuning the fuel injection would be easier in the long run... Other than that it's a stout motor and kinda the blueprint for making an assload of power.... I don't intend to put my car on an engine dyno but I fully expect it to make all of 700 flywheel... Tony's already did that much (530+ with about 25% loss thru the drivetrain).....

But yeah lose that water neck.... my engine builder welded mine up for free cause he hated how it looked on there unused...

There are a few guys making that power that hp was made on an engine dyno with 110 octane and made 680 which is about 515-520RWHP through an auto. the TQ seems a little low for a 396.

The only reason that I did it with 1.7 rockers is that he mentioned 1.7 jesel shaft mounts, but either way thats a badass motor and a big cam
