Default LT4 vs. 03 Cobra

Kinda new to the board, especially this section. I live in Central FL and have the 96 vette in my sig. I had a 2000 H/C/I/Forged 346 but sold it recently and now have just the 96. I am a member at FuelSlut.net but love tech and that's why i've been posting here recently.

This dude has a 03 with 400rwhp, and the dyno vid to prove it. I called any stock 03/04 cobra out on FS and this is the closest I could find. My vette only has a delteq and a K&N Youll see it about half way through. My headlights were off.

He got DR's and we did again this last sat, I think I beat him worse b/c i wasn't sleeping at the line like in this vid. Not my vid btw, im just in it. Just thought I'd share.

Nice car man, I recently got a 73 Stingray, love that thing

Anyways, you showed that Cobra what was up, nice vid, gay music though, had to turn off my speakers haha.

Do the LT4 vettes have factory headers or just manifolds?

Crappy Manifolds. I had to replace one of them because it cracked. Its the same manifold they have been putting on SBC for years. Yeah I definately didnt create the vid, the cobra owner did, hence the excuses before each race... lol.

Nice! I just put a set of ported heads and 1.7RR on my stock cammed 95 TA, so I'm assuming it'll run at least as good as an LT4 if not better, given the extra lift and better flowing heads than an LT4. I love hearing about LT4's surprising supposed "faster" cars like LSx's and Cobras. Good job representing the LTx's!

Good job. A long while back I posted that I spanked my brother in laws stock 03 Cobra with my LT1 A4 vette and lots of people didn't believe me.

My only mods at the time were headers/high flow cats, and replaced the D36 with 2.59s with a D44 and 3.45s. Stock Cobras are not that fast, modded Cobras may be a different story.

The Cobra has intake and exhaust. In the race in the vid he was on street tires, he let out before the end of the race. But last saturday we raced again with him on brand new BFG DR's and I got him out of the hole about 1 car and at 110mph I was 1-1/2 out at the quarter mile. I f'n hate roll racing unless no one will agree to a dig, that's the only time I'll do it. Ill race from a 20 roll to my trap speed, but thats it. Takes all the fun out of racing.

Ported LT4 heads or ported LT1 heads? If they are LT1, even ported, they probably won't flow as good. LT4's out flow LS1's by a good 20-30cfm. Its a completely different design and cast.
