I have a new .060 over lt1 with forged internals, fully ported and valved heads, vortec t-trim with full exhaust. Raptor trans and vigilante torque conver. WHen i went to crank it over the first time lastnight the starter sounds like the gear is grinding on the flywheel. When i looked underneath the car the gear came out and never went back in.

So i tried shimming it today...........same thing no matter how many shims. I have a red top battery, am i under powered? bad starter? wired up wrong? it acutally rolled over once today but kept rolling over until i pulled the battery cable.
