Fans coming on @ startup all the time
1993 Trans Am LT1/Auto
My cooling fans come on upon startup all the time, not sure if this is a problem but i think it has something to do with my electrical weirdness going on. Seems that when they kick on, i have a power drain since my amp gauge reads in the yellow. Then as i begin to drive there is this 'click' from the front of the car area or possibly under the dash and the gauge returns to normal. I also have electrical feedback coming from the speakers, but this goes away once the amp gauge returns to normal. Turning on the A/C also seems to put the hurt on my electrical system. I knew that Pontiac's had electrical gremlins, but damn...this is irritating me. Hope you guys have some advice.

yea if the comp sees something wrong, it will kick on the fans and i think it will even richen the fuel mixture and retard the timing a bit if im not mistaken. it is a safety precaution

Might also look at the water pump temp sensor and see if it's reading correctly. Mine went bad once and it was showing like double digit temps at operating temp. Yours could be going the other way. Also you said "click" so I thought relay. Do relays die with a connection? Meaning can they "stick" with a completed circuit?
