Removing MAF sensor?

New custom cold air and dash install (pics)
Ok. Decided not to remove the MAF
The cluster has been in for a while and working great. These are before, during and after.
I also got rid of the stock intake setup. The boot is from my 5.7 TPI, then it goes to the MAF then to a 1000 CFM K&N. All I really needed to do was make the MAF wires longer.

I think if the maf is not connected it defaults to the speed density. It is def. still an option in the computer tables. As for the connector I hear of people getting something from Home Depot that works.

no, it does NOT default to speed density. the MAP sensor on the LT1s is there for ONLY diagnostic purposes. If you disconnect the MAF, the car will run like ball sack.

if disconnected it defaults to previously programmed parameters...essentially a limp mode. Now you can get the car tuned to use speed density but in stock form it does not actively use the MAP sensor
