Default New personal best today for my bolt-on LT1...

I had a rather good day dispite the crappy weather, most of the guys I was running with were saying they were between 1-1.5 tenths off due to today's weather...

For those that didn't know I was doing a little weight reduction, and got my RW down to 3190# according to the track's freshly calibrated scales...

The first pass out today was:

60' ... 1.663
330 .. 4.999
1/8 ... 7.832
MPH . 86.14
1000 10.294
1/4 ... 12.362
MPH . 109.47

I followed that up with another new best of:

60' ... 1.655
330 .. 4.990
1/8 ... 7.826
MPH . 86.11
1000 10.282
1/4 ... 12.345
MPH . 109.7

Not bad for a bolt-on, well mostly bolt-off , LT1 car...

Not bad, really good runs..the fastest I went bolt-on was 13.2x's. That was on a A4, full weight, with shorties.

They are 275 60 M/T drag radials (28" tall), a little too big for the 3.73's I run, but I did most of my shopping from the message board classifieds to get good deals so this is the combo I ended up with...

When doing the math it is the same as running 3.42's and 26" tires, so there is a lot of room for improvement there...

well, what I have taken out has been a lot, it might be a shorter list of going by what's still in the car bolt by bolt...

I started like most people and pulled the spare tire, jack, and rear seats, then slowly have been pulling things of that I don't need, whenver the situation arose for me to work on that area. Such as a few years back when my water pump went out I replaced it with an e-water pump and pulled the AIR system. Then when I did headers and dumped exhaust I pulled the EGR, and the heavy factory catback. Somewhere in there I pulled the TCS, and cruise control, can't remember what else was going on at the time but it could have been the same time as the 1.6 rocker install since I had to pull the TCS off the valve cover anyway. But pretty much just everytime I had a project it ended up with a pile of things that never went back on the car...

My most recent project was just a quest for weight reduction and that was the removal of the HVAC, stereo, and airbags. But, that just started as an HVAC and stereo removal untill I had to pull the pass airbag for the dash removal and didn't want to put it back in...

OK, well I just found out from some of the guys that were racing yesterday that the DA was over 3500' and the official temp was 91*...

Using the NHRA DA conversion factors for ET (.9575) and MPH (1.0451) that's 11.82 @ 114.65 at sea level, bolt-on record here I come...

I was going to do that but for the price of the LT4 springs it is cheap insurance and piece of mind...
