you should probably quit driving the car or replace the pump asap. before you destroy the opti..right when a water pump goes or is going its not uncommon to see that much coolant coming out....its unreal the amount that can come out of the weep hole and the shaft.

well... me and a buddy had at it today and it is freaking RETARTED hard! i know its not supposed to be that way, but it was A LOT more than the "6" bolts and its off scenario.. we had to take off quite a few more parts to even get to half of the bolts.. 3 hours today, and only got it off.. geeze its stupid...

He may have still had the air pump and stuff to work around as at least one of the driver side bolts shares the air pump bracket. And the farthest right bolt is behind the PS pulley but I can usually turn the pulley and get an extension in there. Might be kinda difficult if you've never done it before.

Definitely - I read a lot of posts before I attacked mine. Determining what needs to be removed on the fly will take a lot more time. It's always good to hear experience from others.

What I hate the most is bathing in the friggin coolant as you pull bolts - other than that its just turning wrenches.

Most people have trouble the first time.
It gets easier over time LOL

It's also a good excuse to upgrade to an e-water pump
