Default bearing clearances....

Alright, when measuring the clearnces for the mains, I measure the journal on the crank, then put the bearing back in and torque the cap down and measure inside with a bore gauge......

Question, do I need to use a new bearing, or can I use my old bearings that aren't worn?
That way I can order the correct bearings the first time......

*Using stock bottom end with new bearings*

also, I plan on clearances of:

#5 #4 #3 #2 #1
.0025 .002 .002 .002 .002

and then .002 on the rods.

The current valvetrain is:

stock heads/valves
CC503
GMPP 1.6RR
PAC1218's
LS7 lifters
stock pushrods

Are the clearances good? This is a dd, so.......

So nobody has done this?

One other thing, does it take a special tool to install piston rings?
All of mine need replacing.

yeah... i forget the name, but you put the piston in it, and it like squeeze the rings... and then you put the tool above the cylinder, then slip the piston in
