Default lt1 t56 spec stage 1 clutch shakes

ok does this make sense i put a new spec clutch and flywheel in my car it has over 2000miles on setup , it feels like the clutch doesnt want to engage it just shakes the car . but it does it at random times in the day. i was thinking that if the cat is clog it starts to get really hot and inturn heats the clutch up and makes it shake.

there is another thread about my car being slow

i dont think it would be the cat being clogged because you would be having other problems if it were the cat like the engine missing/ backfiring, plus i dont think the cat can get hot enough to make it do that.

its just typical clutch chatter.... common in spec clutches. it might not be torqued properly, could be a bad pilot bearing if you used the old one, but its definitely not the cat getting hot. has nothing to do with it at all.

ts just a spec clutch. mine was doing the same thing at 2000 miles. I was so frustrated with it i went out and absolutely beat the **** out of it because i was ready to go buy something else and do it all over again. i got it nice and hot to the point i could smel it. turned out being the best thing i could have done. it was 50% smoother and grabbed 50% better the next day.

also it is a performance clutch. by definition performance clutches dont like to be held at a constant half-engagement. learn to release the clutch progressively and your take offs will be a lot smoother. most modifications come with additional personality traits you just gotta adapt to

yeah i know its a performance clutch and every thing and ive drove cars with higher perperformace clutch then this but the reason im thinking that there is something wrong is the fact it doesnt do it at all times. i have heard alot of crazy things about the spec clutch and how you have to beat the sh#t out of them for them to get where you want. thanks guys

I've got a stage two in mine and it shakes like crazy if u just tryin to ease off it. But mine doesn't do that all the time either. But i don't worry too much about it cause it grabs like crazy!!! Should be making a video sometime next week of the car barking 5 of the 6 gears, gotta love 4.56 gears
