Default Can I Carb. It?

Not ME per-se, but a friend a project we're starting.

Basically my question is this: Can you take a TBI motor, drop a LT1 cam in it, and carburet it? Or will the EFI cam not mix well with a Carb? My buddy can tune any Carb like no bodies business, so if it's mixture probs, he can sort it out someway or another. I know the TBI motors like LT1 cams + chip, but I was hoping to get around the whole EFI (needing it chipped) issue. Otherwise we have a 454 TB and we'll toss that on a carb intake and get it chipped.

Also, it's a 700R4, for those wondering.

Thanks, and hope it's not too confusing lol

I have carbed several EFI cars with no problem. Some seemed to gain power in such a good way on the top end (restrictive TPI runners to a dual plane with carb for example) so yea, you shouldnt have any problems. Not that i have ever ran into. Hell, you see they intake made for a LS1 to run off a carb, what does that tell you???

Well I just wanted to make sure that the cam wouldn't run funky on a carb due to it not being designed for it. But yea, I should've thought of that MSD conversion kit to run carb.
