Default GM847 cam and Edelbrock heads

ok, i know edelbrock lt1 heads arent the best, but i got a set for super cheap with hardly any miles on them. obviously the guy wanted something better so he pratically gave them away. iniatially I was going with a lpe cam, but have changed my mind. im going with a gm847. ive already contacted edelbrock and they say there springs will hold a maximum of .600 lift on these heads. a gm847 is very close to this with 1.6 rockers i believe. what do y'all think about this? do you think these springs will handle the 847, its awful close. i plan on getting them ported, i figured they would be better than stock. on a side note this is going on a fresh 355. any opions will be greatlly apprciated.

If Edelbrock says the springs are good for .600 lift then you will be fine but too close for my likeings. With 1.6rr your only going to be giving up .05 lift before the springs max out. Here are the lifts below:

intake: 234@.050 .539 exhaust: 242@.050 .558 112 LSA w/ 1.5 rr's
intake: 234@.050 .574 exhaust: 242@.050 .595 112 LSA w/ 1.6 rr's

What springs are they? Just because they are good to .600 lift doesn't mean they have enough spring pressure to control the valves.
