Default Hot cam

I have a 95 camaro with cold air, MAF, shift kit, 3.73, and a 75 shot. I am buying the pacesetters lt, and the hot cam kit and after that is done i am getting my pcm tuned by madz28. When i do my cam kit i am prolly going to take off the whole top end of the motor. When i am doing this, would it be a good idea to get my heads and intake ported and polished? If so how much of a increase would it be, and what are some fair prices to get them done. I what do do it right when it is all apart? Must i buy a new timing chain when i do the hot cam kit, and do i have to degree the hot cam kit, or does it already come degreed?

Yes it would be a good idea to do these things while you have everything apart, but no they would not benefit much with the hotcam. The hotcam is an excellent choice for BONE STOCK HEADS, on a street/mild strip car. If you are going to the trouble of getting your heads ported, you might as well step up to a bigger cam which can take advantage of the extra airflow.

Wow that is exspensive! For what it is, i have seen a car with just the hot cam kit with lt put down 355 and they are selling a cam kit and heads that only produce 360 to 370.

but you need a bigger cam to match those high flowing afr mucho grande expensive heads. hotcam kit is great for a daily driven car cause it wont impact your gas mileage if thats important to you and everything is matched. like stated above, you dont need head work with the hotcam or any other mild cam

Advanced induction sells heads/cam kits that make more power than AFR heads and sell it as a package, and they have track results to back up their claims.

I dont care about gas milage. I am prolly not going to be doing heads for a bit. I have about $1600 to spend on my car. I def. want LT, and a pcm tune. After that i am still debating. I really want a cam, my buddys 97 trans am has the hot cam in it and it is awsome! He only has a hot cam and headers and he cam pull on me! I would love to put my own cam kit together, but i dont have enough no how or the money so i think that i am just going to go with the hot cam kit. Is there anybody that has the hot cam kit for sale for the lt1???

not being smart but it sounds like you might wanna do a lil research first and pick a combo that compliments itself and works well together..not just throwing a big name head on their with a hotcam..you will be severely disappointed

An AFR head will not out perform a ported stocker on a smaller ci motor. Forced Induction and Big cubes is where you should start lookin into the aftermarket heads. A hotcam kit is a good all around cam that is very streetable but with minimal gains compared to other cams avail. LE is not expensive and his combos are great! :tonythetiger: lol
