Default I Need some help please!!

Alright my car has been falling on its face ever since I installed the headers, I brought it to a friend of mine and he told me that my motor isn't getting the fuel that it needs and he told me to order a new TB and MAF sensor and then he would throw it on his tuner. I did a search and mostly said that a stock throttle body is good through 400 horse and I know I am not even close to making that so my question is shoudl I go for the throttle body or the MAF or both or does someone have a different idea as to why it would seem like i lost power since the header swap.

When you run new headers they burn off a little bit of coating right away. If you had your O2 sensors in, you could have harmed them.

No reason to think TB or MAF when you just changed something and got a problem immediately afterwards.

Check the plug wires! Most likely there is one that is burnt. You read correctly there is no need for a tb until upwards of 400 rwhp and aftermarket maf sensors are a pita to tune and calibrate correctly, stick with a stock one.

i would check your plug wires, and i would also check your o2 sensors. they would cause this problem. i wouldnt been throwing a maf and throttle body at it just yet. They have nothing to do with freshly installed headers.

Yeah I'd be checking plug wires and checking the O2 sensors.

replaced plugs and wires about a week after installing headers, I reused all of the factory heat sheilds on the wire boots and also wrapped the o2 sensor wires. As for the plug wires i am pretty sure i would recognize a misfire and i thought it would throw a misfire code if that were happening, as for the o2 i guess the only way i can really check their performance is by plugging it in and comparing banks

Is it falling on its face in WOT or at partial throttle?

I had a guy pay me to replace his fuel pump because he swore up and down that it wasnt getting enough fuel. Well I replaced it and it still stumbled. I told him to check the wires, and he told me that his friend (a gm tech) replaced the plugs and wires a month before. Well I took a look and the #5 wire was touching the header and was burned completely through. Guess what fixed the problem? Follow each wire from plug to opti by hand and feel for burns and what not. Also make sure 3x that each wire is going to the correct post on the opti.

I would check before you go, or you may be wasting your money on the dyno.

Check your plug wires! that doesn't cost you anything, if its fuel related problem check the fuel pressure (40-42psi) then replace the fuel filter. I would do this before a dyno tune anyways...

headers and Lt1 plug wires DO NOT MIX well. i learned this after 3 sets of MSD plugs. if you can, make or buy some over the valve cover wire looms....they work great. and eliminate alot of problemz
