Default flames coming out of my headers

car wont start and flames come out of my headers when i crank the engine.

not 100% i have never installed a cam but it should be at top dead center right? Did you do that? Cause your exhaust valves are opening on the combustion stroke.

Sounds like the cam is in wrong or maybe to much advance , causing you exhaust valves to open on combustion=flames out the headers. Or maybe you are running so rich you are igniting unburnt fuel in the exhaust.

check your spark plugs for color. Black = rich, white = lean, rust = good

ok well i got it started the rockers where all to tight now im trying to get it to idle, i think its the pressure i put a tester on it and it only reads 10-15 psi but i have a brand new aeromotive fuel pres. reg on it . when i step on the gas a little it sounds like its idleing ...lol....im about to crank the **** out of the regulator and hope for the best any one have any other ideas i still havvent put the o2 sensors on .

Rockers is what I would of said..mine was a bitch too when I built my LT1. I had to adjust literally in 1/10 turns.

When my rockers were too tight after doing the head gasket work, trying to crank the car resulted in a sound like a shotgun going off.

yep rockers we did that one to haha.. gotta love it I hate adjusting rockers havnt got it down yet although i can rebuild a tranny.. kinda odd

the car wont start with the o2 sensors not connected if thats what u mean by them not being on
