Default replacing opti tm maybe

well i changed plugs and wires and coli couple weeks ago and i still have a rough idle and a miss is getting worse starting at 5,500ish im not working right now so i was going to take it off and inspect the cap and rotor maybe clean it and put it back on i already have a hb puller and wp gaskets so its a free deal would cleaning the contacts help that much or would it be the actual pick up that makes it miss---- im trying to keep what money i have in the bank to hold me over till 12th (some people may think well that time you waste on it why dont you look for a job lol) i've got one starting on the 12th

Check your Fuel Pressure 1st, put a guage on it. A weak pump gives off VERY similar symptoms as a bad opti.

Put in the rail, then attatch to the window, do a WOT run and if moves more then 4-5 psi then its a pump issue, not a opti issue. It needs to be driven, dont do it in park/neutral

You don't need to pull the hub when you take off the opti you just have to remove the balancer

Agreed, Also the opti come off in one position on the hub, so turn it until it matches the bottom of the opti, then it slide straight off.

thanks i'm gonna go get the gauge right now hopefully it isnt the pump. it was replace at 94k i think. its at 115k now ... this would be the first time doing an opti so i thought the hb was blocking it or at least had to be moved out a little ways-- thanks
