383 necesary's and just add on's
ok so im sure someone is gunna say im a newb and that i shoulda searched but i did and couldnt find exactly what i wanted, but i was wondering with a 94 z28 i was looking at getting a 383 stoker kit and was wondering if i would NEED anything else besides obviously the pistons rods and crank and the boring of the block to run safely? ie would i *NEED* a bigger cam to run safely or bigger injectors? i guess what im asking is what would you actually need over stock to make a 383 run safely. and also if anyone had any guess of what the power would look like? like a round number? over 300 to the wheels im hoping. thanks im new too this is my first post so be nice none of this

Nothing wrong with asking questions. I'm no expert but definitely recommend you have your heads rebuilt to match your stroker, port/polish, bigger valves, springs, pushrods (or hardened), etc. Also have your intake port matched or read up on doing it yourself. Definitely go with a custom grind cam (whether hydraulic or solid), upgrade your lifters (hyd or solids depending on the cam), several supporting vendors on here can hook you up with head work, cams, etc, to match your build. Your stock 24# injectors will be fine for now, longtube headers would be an excellent upgrade. Dyno-tuning once you break it in will be key to your new setup running right.
Don't cut any corners, good luck.

I'd say do it right the first time and save some money in the future when you have to back track and tear it back down. The best way is to find another LT1 block and build it as time permits. I'm building a Forged 383 stroker right now. And Lloyd Elliot is the way I'm going as well. I'd say do the LE2 Package for a street car but a LE3 Package if it will be a mostly track/ sometimes street car. The Le2 package is supposed to have plenty of low end grunt to race on the street. At least thats what he told me when I talked to him about my setup. He also said a 3600 stall with a LE2, and 3800+ stall with LE3.....Good luck If I were you I'd contact Lloyd Elliot and see what he says.
