Default Valve Cover Gaskets-Rubber or Cork-Whats better?

Need to replace mine, autozone has both, the rubber is $10 more but i've always ran cork ones on other cars, are the rubber ones better?

My Felpro rubber ones have been used a half dozen times and don't leak a bit. They don't take a set, so I vote rubber.

I have never bought valve cover gaskets for my LT1s, just keep reusing the stockers. If you damaged one then I would stay rubber like stock.

Rubber. I have aftermarket valve covers, the cork was just enough thicker then rubber that they caused the alternater to hit the VC. If that matters to anyone?

Screw the rubber. Get her on the pill.

But seriously I like rubber better the cork. They are reusable and dont get a crease like cork.

Rubber, and if they leak, the gasket may have moved slightly. I glue mine to the valve cover lightly with gorilla snot or similar (not silicone). I also found that my tired old valve covers needed a little bit more torque to keep sealed.

Also be aware if the PCV system fails, or you have significant blowby from worn rings, the crankcase pressure can easily blow out gaskets.

I wonder if this is the case, i took the pvc line from the valve cover and replaced it with a breather...could this have caused it?
