There is more to controling a cam than just lift, NOBODY should be giving you answers without more info from you first.

No. The max lift of a spring is just one aspect of choosing the right springs for a valvetrain. You have to ensure that you have the proper seat pressure for starters.

how can you insure proper seat pressure? Learn me! I need to know these things. As of valve train components I have the following. 1.6 nsa rr, ls7 lifters, what else would I need? The push rods I will not get until I found out what length I need once everything begins to come together.

This question can not be properly answered without the cam you plan to run.

One guy on the Impala board was running double springs with "enough" pressure and lift capacity according to his speed shop and engine builder once he told us what cam he had a couple of us immediately told him his high rpm miss was valve float due to missmatched springs. We finally convinced him to swap springs and that fixed the problem. The seat pressure was about the same, the over the nose pressure was lighter on the RIGHT spring yet the doubles failed to do the job because the lobes were designed with another spring in mind.

Best bet is to check the cam card and what the manufacturer recommends, then chose that spring or one similar. They already did their homework, no need to "reinvent the wheel". It is not just the lift, but ramp speed, lobe shape, rpm range, seat pressure, etc that can all have effects that will make one spring perform better then the other in each application and in different RPM ranges.

I run the crane 10308 dual springs at stock installed height that are good to .6 lift, but I am at .570 lift and my custom grind cam peaks only around 6k. If I needed more rpms I would have went beehive for the increased stability and high rpm use, and if I was closer to .6 lift I would have gotten one rated over .6. It is not a good idea to run parts on their ragged end of recomendations, even though many are underrated.

I wouldnt run a .6 lift cam on a .6 lift max rated spring.
