Default Ultra Copper

I have been hearing that when people install there headers they use something called ultra copper I just want to know how this is used and if it helps. I did use something called ultra copper but it was only good for 700 degrees so I dont know if thats ok or not. I cant get my passeneger side header to seal up good I can see some smoke coming out of the bottom of the gasket.

I've used it before to help seal a warped header flange. I just applied a very thin layer to both sides of the gasket and let it set for couple of minutes or so before installation. Before you use it make sure it's safe for the o2 sensors. Some sealants will kill them.

Be careful, there are generic brands that do not work as well.

Use only Permatex Ultra-Copper. It works.

Yeah, copper spray is great for head gaskets, especially ones that are multi-layer. Its very sticky and can actually fill small gaps and help to create a better seal. Great stuff.

Edit: Absolutely use the Permatex brand as mentioned above.

To clarify... this is RTV silicone gasket in a tube, not copper spray coating.

Ah, gotcha. That stuff works good too, to each their own.
