Default timing trouble

Is there a timing adjustment for the optispark to advance or retard the timing. after i had some work done to my car (96 lt1 ss camaro), the cam bolts backed out of the timing gear. it sheared one off and jumped 1 tooth out of time. the chain and gears appeared to be fine so i lined the marks on the gears back up and put it back together but now my car is running ragged as hell and doesnt want to idle. also i havent been able to get rid of a crankshaft position sensor code since i bought the car. I've replaced the wiring harness the sensor and the reluctor ring and the code is still there. any help would be appreciated i'm at the end of my mechanical know how rope.
