Default MSD 6A (or AL)

I'm thinking about putting on an ignition box this winter. As best I can tell, the only difference btw the MSD 6A & 6AL is the built in rev limiter. Should I just go with the 6A, being that there already is a rev limiter in the PCM or is there something I'm missing here?

Thats what I did and the stock pcm limited the motor as if the 6a wasn't even on there.

Well it's safer to use the rev limiter off the box, you can just raise the pcm limiter with a tune and use the msd.

The rev-limiter in the ignition box limits via killing spark. The PCM limits via pulling fuel. Pulling fuel creates potential dangerous lean conditions. The ignition box limiter is not only safer, but far more accurate and consistent. And the way it pulls spark is "smart" it will alternate which cylinders it doesn't fire; therefore, you don't have cylinders just loading with fuel repeatedly.

If you plan on reaching limiter often, I would swing for the AL.
