Default Mids. Help constructing a y pipe

Need suggestions for putting together a y-pipe.

Just bought JBA mids to replace the JBA dual cat shorties. What size piping should I go with, 2.5 or 3 inch? I really like the flowmaster merge pipe that people use for longtubes. Is there a way to do this for mids? I'd also like to put cats on, if not for the obvious smog reasons, at least for the sound, smell, etc.

My setup: 355, Vortech S trim (soon to be aftercooled-the reason I bought these headers), JBA mids, M6, and Corsa.

Mac makes a Y pipe for their mids, don't know if it will work with JBA though.

I will actually get an off road y with it. But it would be cool to build a high flowing catted y pipe. If I could fit a pair of cats without problems fitting them upstream towards the headers, that would be great. I'd like to hear though from you guys if 3" piping would be best?

2.5" or 3"?

Flowmaster y collector possible for a midlength setup?

Dual cats on a single cat header possible?
