Default Custom Exhaust Q's.....

well i was tired of hearing how my car sounds for a few years and i want to put more pep in its step so i bought some lt's and was gonna do a true dual set up. but after looking at pics of other peoples that are dumped before the axle i didnt really like the universal x pipe look. plus the muflers i bought are 5 inches in diameter.. so there sent my ground clerance. so now i am doing true duals over the axle. i have almost all of my bends from stuff laying around the garage but to make things a little easier i would like to know if the stabilizer above the panhard bar was really necessary and the tunnel brace that is about a foot and a half south of the tranny crossmember was necessary. the tunnel brace could be modified to fit again but that is were my x pipe is going to be. when im done its almost going to be like the basanni true duals. but way cheaper

1st pic, no. Second pic, yes, no problem.

What you call a stablizer might be able to be replaced with a custom brace, but I would avoid losing it entirely; a much stronger aftermarket panhard bar might change that answer, but you'd better bounce the idea off a chassis guy first. The bolted on tunnel brace can be left off with no issues.

why can't you get yours to fit? mine fits fine, its tight, but it fits....i actually lost ground clearance and scrape like a bastard when i bought a torque arm setup for long tubes and i didn't even need the clearance

You can buy an aftermarket panhard bar mount that is bent out of the way for true dual apps. check out our sponsors.
