Default Blown head gaskets????

I have a 95 z-28 with a a4. I have blown the head gaskets on it, So i have been wanting to do a h/c swap on it, So what better time then now. It has 115,000 miles on the car. I have been looking at the LE2 package. I was woundering if there is any other h/c kits out there that will put me over the 400 HP mark with out putting me over say $2000.

LE, advanced induction, PortPros, etc.

All are comparable, if you talk to them about your goals and what you would like to make and how you use the car.

I don't think any are necessarily better. Generally, people will recommend whoever has done their car as the best, but I'm not really sure how that is an objective evaluation. I haven't dealt with any of them, so I don't really want to say anything on that.

But all of them have people who have gone fast with their stuff and proven that it works.

So let me ask you this, has anybody had any problems out of the LE2 package? And is there any other H/C package out there that is better that the LE2 package, price and HP wise?

I judge all my purchases on customer service, and their ability to take care of a problem if something were to happen. After talking to everyone of those vendors before I decided on who to port my heads, Lloyd Elliot got my business. He is stand up, and isnt out there just to make money, but to rather have grat customer relationship and create some fast cars. Every company listed does great work. Create a decision on a package that fits your budget and requirements. As far as the LE2 package, you will def. be very close to 400 rwhp on an m6 car and about 370-390 w/ an a4 car, and very happy with the outcome. Hope this helped.

Would this be a good deal? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BUDGE...spagenameZWDVW I am going to college and i am not aloud to have any motor parts in my apartment. Or else i would try and build my motor myself. Does this seem like a bad idea, or would it be a good place to start. My head gaskets are bad on my car now and it has 115,000 miles on the motor. So what i am asking would this be a good set up?

id stay away from anything ebay w/ my car. just because ur headgasket(s) are shot, doesnt mean you have to completely rebuild the motor. however it would be a good precaution, seeing that ur current motor has 115,000 on the dial.

I understand the fact that ebay isnt a great place to get a new motor, But i have to work in a budget and that motor is working for what i have to spend to start out, I am not trying to argue or offend anyone. But If i were to buy that motor would it be...... ok well are the internals that are in the motor are they good, or are the internals in that motor junk. Are they going to be breaking right after i put the motor in? It also says that it has a 3 year warrenty?????

4 grand SEEMS like a good deal on that ebay site. Me personally, i would not buy a longblock from ebay. You say you're on a budget but you're trying to buy a new shortblock because of a busted headgasket? What are your plans for this car?

I just blew a headgasket on my 01 Duramax Diesel Silverado. $4500 at minimun and cylinder heads may possibly be damaged bringing it to ATLEAST $6000 so just be happy your not driving a diesel :-). BTW Lloyd is AWESOME!

What kind of budget are you working with? The flat top pistons in the Ebay engine will give you way too much compression. We use a 6 inch rod and SRP or Probe dish piston in all of the 383 or 396 LT1s we build.
