Default X-pipe kit or custom x?

Okay so I was going to buy summits 3" universal x-pipe kit and have the shop cut it up and put it on my car but my friend says I can just go to the shop and they will build me a custom x and true duals. Which option would be better? and more cost friendly? Supposively he is giving me a really good deal on the labor

Checkout Dynomax's 3" stainless X-pipe, work of art, your muffler shop won't make a better piece, plus it'll last forever, not expensive either. What kind of mufflers are you going to run?

It also depends on what TA you are using...I went with custom 3" stainless with the X going thru the dip in my Spohn TA...Its pretty bad ***...BUT ain't cheap...

yeah ill have to wait till mid january to get my spohn torque arm and then i'll get my exhaust all fabbed up. For now its headers w/ my powersticks clamped onto the collector but I just want to figure out if I should buy a summit x pipe kit and have the shop go off of that or just have the shop do it full custom

Here's what I went with...I have a Spohn cross brace mounted TA with 2 DS loops..It's all custom work and was worth every penny...These pix are old...Now I have it routed out of the sides behind the doors, but back cut under the car a couple of inches...

I was wondering, would it be possible to run true duals with cats,x-pipe and dump before the rear.....I live in CA

Or is this just a bad idea all together

I have 3" TD's with w/ x-pipe and dumped before the axle, but no cats. As long as the headers you get have the emissions fittings and your tune is on point you should be fine depending on your cam. They clear, but mine came close to my adj tq arm so I had to get a standard mount one instead of the crossbrace mounted tq arm.

Not that big a deal, most likely "wost case" scenerio is that I have to change my tranny mount sooner...which only takes all of 10 mins.

I used the Magnaflow 3" X pipe - it is a work of art. I doubt there will be a noticable difference between brands though, but a hacked together custom one made from piping will not transition as smoothly as a nice aftermarket one.

I dont mean to hijack this thread..

Here is what I was thinking about doing exactly in this order.....mac mid tube headers, magnaflow cats, x-pipe, bullet mufflers dump before axle. Do you see any horsepower loss or issues....remember im from CA

well w/ mids and cats theres not really a reason to go w/ true duals besides sound. you wont gain any power over a catback system which would be easier to put together. now back on topic!

btw would it be ok to just band clamp my powersticks onto my collectors until i get my torque arm installed?
