Default Can I use a 95 throttle cable for my 1997?

Title says it all...My throttle cable snapped and I can't find a 97 anywhere, and some guy is interested in my car to buy, and would like that replaced before he comes and looks at it. Can I use that? Are there any mods I will have to do to make it fit? Any help would be awesome!

You should be able to get one at the dealership for around $20. You can use a '95 cable but you will need a '95 style bracket on the intake manifold.

So I can use a 1994-1996 cable as long as I use the bracket? I have the part number for the cable, does anyone have one for the bracket?

You should be able to get these parts numbers at the dealership. The parts guys shouldn't have any problem looking it up on their computers and getting you the RIGHT cable.

the only difference in the cables is if you have a 93 or if the car has traction control.....
new throttle cable is 30.00 from GM,NON traction cont.

So just to clarify, do I, or don't I, need a different bracket for a pre 1997 model. If I don't, I can just get a cable and be done with it?

if you dont have traction control then yes it will work. i just put one on my car 2 weeks ago. and you dont need any type of bracket.

if you have traction control your going to obviously find a traction control cable.
