Question Gauge wiring

Ok i just got a Autometer electric oil pressure gauge along with a Autometer electric water temperature gauge and i know where to get my power and the ground but what wires do i tap into get my readings for the gauges signal?

First, are you sure that these gauges are designed to be used with the factory sending units? The instructions that come in the box should tell you...

AllData says that the oil sender has 90 ohms at high pressure and 10 ohms at low pressure.

The oil pressure wire should be tan. You'll have to find it underneath your dash... You could test to make sure of which one it is by momentarily grounding it, with the car on. This should make the factory gauge jump.

For the coolant -- AllData says 1365 ohms at 100 degrees F and 55 ohms at 260 degrees F.

This one is a dark green wire. Routing should be similar. Use same momentary ground method to double check.

All the Autometer electric guages that I have seen, come with their own sending units and need to be installed in order to obtain accurate guage readings.

I seem to recall installing at least one that had jumpers on the back for various senders...

There are also Autometer gauges that are matched to the OEM senders. I couldn't find any links, but I've seen them before.
