Default 97 30th Anniversary Maro Rebuild......PICS

Ok, Got the camaro pulled apart and got some pics of the damages. The crossmember, suspension, and rims took 75% of the blow...the frame took damage when it hit the truck. It can be fixed, and as things go I will post pics to keep anyone up to date who would like to follow. Thanks for the help, and more is appreciated if possible. I still need an entire camaro front end...frame and all from the doors foreward...you see the damages, if you have any questions, or see something you can help me with, definaltely feel free to let me know!!! Thanks guys and gals, y'all have been awesome! Let me know if you are interested in keeping up with this post so I know im not just talking for no reason here...lol.

hahaha, the back glass was because I had to get some military gear out of the back of the car, and I couldnt get to it any other way and cops were rushing me off...I had to make a decision and they werent giving me time to do it so I said **** it and broke the glass. Regret it now...lmao, wasnt my brightest ida, but oh well, ill fix it. I cant get that code right now from the module, BUT keep it handy, I will DEFINATELY need it cause as I'm sure you can see, mine is trashed...lol. and I am for sure fixing the car, that car is going NOWHERE....where you goin? NOWHERE.....lmao (boondock saints)

if I can get an entire front end from a similar camaro I will be ok...that is all I really need. As for labor, I am good with engines and my father does body work, so we are doing it ourselves...no labor fees.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. A year from now you are going to have one kick *** 30th Anniversary Camaro. Nothing you can't fix with a good donor car.

Good excuse to pick up some race suspension parts, wheels, and tyres.

Sure it is going to take money but might as well keep the car.

its my baby...a lot of sentimental meaning tied to it. Now it will be even more meaning because this has turned into a HUGE "father-son" project. Something I will have to remember for a very long time. So money isnt THAT much of an object...HOWEVER, I DO NOT wanna pay out the *** to repair it cause I would rather save what I can so I can make a few mods to it in the process you know?

Naw. I completely understand. My 35th Anni car was the exact same thing. The last father-son project. Almost the exact same situation cept I wasn't the driver. If you need a cruise control module just let me know. I have a couple for LT1s but not sure which code is yours. I might have a couple other parts but would just have to look through what I have.

Glad to hear you are ok.

I cannot see the picture, so sorry if this is wasting your time. I have a steering wheel out of a 95 formula if that helps out at all. Airbag intact.

Let me know. PM's are best.

got the PM, thanks! I would like to find those cheap LT1 parts. I have a front end now I think, and a rear hatch with glass. I just need body stuff but I do have a question...does a 99 LS1 Z28 front end match up with my 97 LT1 Z28 front end, engine mounts, etc? Is it the same? I know body parts are way different and cant be used, but frame, K-member, etc still same? Will an LT1 bolt onto an LS1 K-member? Please let me know ASAP! Thanks!

I got a pretty good pile of 97 z parts from my build. Let me know if there is anything you need. I took the car down to the shell and replaced everything but the front k-member and control arms. I feel your pain. I bought my car while in iraq the second time (2005) and I'm having to pull a head off and have a machine shop spec the cylinder so I can get the compression/quench right.

I would have told the cops to go F-OFF and leave me alone. You can sit at the accident site as long as you want. Im not gonna break my window cause there in a rush. Sorry to hear about your accident, looks like it will all work out with some new parts
