Unhappy 2nd to 3rd gear issue

ok so hi eveyone my name is steve and i own a 1995 formula, the car has 135xxx miles on it, ive done gears, hollowed cat, intake, all free mods, the major issue ive been having is that occasionally under full throttle when the car wants to shift from 2nd to 3rd it pops alot in the higher rpms. like the 5500's and takes a while to shift. it used to be horrible but i fixed half of it due to a leaky fuel pump line. im unsure of the rest of it, i have not changed 2 plugs on the passenger side and was thinking that may be it just looking for some feed back if anyone else has had or herd of this.

thanks
steve

sounds like the clutches are about dead. and the popping could be the motor bouncing off the rev limiter ( somwhere around 5500-5800 stock i think) waiting for the tranny to shift. It is most likely the early stages of losing 3rd and 4th gear.

Yeah it always sucks when stuff breaks. but its a chance to make it that much better. A sponsor on here performabuilt does outstanding work if you are looking to buy a built up tranny. A buddy of mine bought one off of them and couldnt be happier. G/L

Yes sounds like the 3-4 clutchs are going . More than;likley your power additions caused the shift timing tooccur to close to the rev limiter after a few times it will damage the 3-4 clutch. If we can help let me know

HAHAHAHAHAHA i fixed the issue, i thought that this might have been the issue and i totaly forgot about it. when i first bought the car last august i changed out the plugs well all but 2 of them because i was running out of time. today i went and changed All of the plugs and by gollie 2 were gaped at .080, the rest at about .050, so i gaped all the new ones at .035 and replaced the plug wires. now she screams all the way through the RPM's, guys ive fallen back in love with my LT1
