Default Has anyone tuned their OBD1 with an LM-1 in here?

and by LM-1 i mean the tuning kit that comes with a logger and PC software.

Im wondering if going with a kit like this might be easier than using datamaster and using the A/C pressure parameter to get my wideband reading.

It looks like it would come out to about the same expense. And also might be easy to [partially] use on another vehicle too.

feedback? I'd love to hear from someone with experience on this. Ease of making new tunes is worth the money for me.

do you do all the logging with the logger? (does it plug into the dataport or no?)

basically im wondering if i can manage only using the logger to log. I dont want to be logging with my laptop and the logger at the same time... just one unit.

I know i can do it both ways, but would you say the logging kit is easier or using a program like datamaster on a laptop?

thanks a bunch man!

for what its worth i already have my laptop setup with a datacable, freescan and tunercat

The one thing about using the LM1 is if you don't have the rpm converter or what ever it was called you don't know at what rpm you ran lean. So at what point of the table would you make changes to? If you are recording rpm with the LM1 kit you are good to go.

i heard you can tap into the tachometer and wire the RPM input manually, without using the RPM converter that costs extra.

Also can i use a narrowband autometer gauge for a visual reading?

Not sure exactly on the rules so I don't wanna post a link... Search google for "the JAW wideband"

I'll be going with that, it allows you to datalog afr, rpm, and 2 other inputs, comes with software to.

I tpyically use datamaster in conjuction with the datalogging software I have for my friend's wideband (nice of him to let me borrow it, cause he barely uses it). the widebands logging software has all kinds of inputs.

are you logging AFR through an unused parameter like the A/C pressure sensor?

this is what i think im going to end up doing with an LC-1 so i can log everything at once with one device.

^^ Nope, the wideband I borrow from a friend has it's own logging software. I log AFR vs RPM with it, and then I use datamaster while logging for monitoring other engine parameters.
