Default LT1 gas mileage

Just trying to straighten things out for someone. Is it possible/feasible for a m6 96 formula with rockers and exhaust to go 96mi on a 1/4tank while "mashing it" in the city? Did the math and with a 15.5 gallon tank thats 24.74mpg.

Sure. The first indicated 1/4 tank is a lot more like 8 or 9 gallons due to the way the gauge works and the shape of the tank. More like 11 miles to the gallon.

And your question is so non-specific as to be virtually impossible to make any meaningful statements about.

I got 28-31 on my old stock M6 and get 21-23 on my LE2 M6 with 4.10's now.

Like Boodyrider said, the first 1/4 on the gauge is a lot more than you think it might be. Funny how it takes forever for it to get to 3/4 but after that you can actually watch the gauge go down!

Yes but it depends on with 1/4 because of the funky gage. 1/4 of a tank on the gauge isn't really that.

By the time you are at "1/4 remaining", you're basically empty lol.

True I did forget about it actually being more than a 1/4 tanks since it needle does go past full. So his statement can be fully true, he just made it seem like he traveled that far on 4gallons, i found that funny.

like said before if its the first quarter of the tank its totally possible, but when youve only got 1/4 left head to the gas station...

i get around 150-200 miles for the first "1/4" tank most times, and usually average 19-20mpg for the tank driving how i want in my 94 m6 formula

I get about about 12-13mpg all city stop and go traffic and 16-17mpg combined highway & city.Never driven all highway long enough to calculate all highway mileage but I'd like to think that it would get at least 20mpg.My car has 3.23's though and has never to my knowledge had a full tune up yet...

I have a bolt on lt1 TA A4 with nitrous, Edge 3300 stall converter, Moser 12bolt with 33 spline axles and 3.73's and get around 15 mpg in town - sometimes 16 mpg. Highway is low 20's.

I average about 18 MPG as long as I don't run the car too hard.

Our cars gas tanks are shaped like V's so if you are going from a 1/4 tank on the gauge, absolutely not. but a true quarter tank, yes.

Ive pulled off 33 mpg on the highway, although most people dont believe me.
