Wink The Headers and the Hole: A book...

Well today I started the Passenger side install of the infamous Pacesetters LTs... Everything is going well except the EGR tube is not clearing the firewall and its really pissing me off. Anyone else have this problem? It doesn't clear the little edge...

I was scared to jack the car up any higher so I dug a me sized hole about one foot deep so me and the pass side header had room to work...I'm such a redneck.

Just thought I'd rant, damn headers...

Should have bought the race style.

I want to keep my emissions stuff, basically cause I can't get the EGR tuned out anywhere near here. And when we built that car we replaced everything so its all new... hate to waste it all...

I'm doing this at my parents house so I'm under a awning doing all this, my place in Tyler would freak if my car sat there more than a day...

My driver's side went in from the top, not too difficult.

And yea I did remove the starter, and Alternator, its just smacking the firewall kinda hard. I'm gonna give the firewall a good smack tomorrow and hope there's nothing behind that spot. I only need like 1/4 inch.

If you don't have emissions inspection, not being able to get a tune is a poor reason not to go with the race style. The car will run fine with no tune for !egr, it will just set the check engine light.

Seriously... Is there something horribly wrong with AIR and EGR?

there's nothing wrong with it, it's just a lot easier to not have to deal with the hassle of it, as you seem to have found out, lol

LOL at the digging a hole. As for getting them in, I kept twisting and turning the header and I used a rubber hammer that I had and banged the **** out of my Jet-Hots and up they went right into place with no harm done.

My car idled SSOOOOOOOO much better after I removed, and corked, the AIR and EGR. I had tuned it out before, but it didn't idle any different before or after tune. I mean, it idled like a V8, but after it idled like an I4 lol Smooth as glass.
