Default Any experience/opinions with SRP pistons?

I am planning on building a forged 383 for my turbo, running 7-12 pounds of boost. I found this kit: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SBC-s...1226QQtcZphoto but have not heard of SRP pistons before. I would like to know more about them, and their compatiblity with F/I applications.
Thanks in advance.

SRP pistons can not hold up to a lot of cylinder pressure. I have some melted ones on my desk for paper weights. I do not recommend them for what you are doing.

SRP pistons are manufactured by JE and are refered to as their "sportsman" piston. Sort of an economy style piston and will work well in a N.A. application, but will not support a lot of boost due to the 4032 aluminum alloy they are made from. JE F.I. pistons are made from a completely different aluminum alloy (2618) and therefore have a very low silicon content...ideal for high boost applications. The price difference between the two is what I would consider marginal.

Think they will hold a 200-250 shot? Regularly

JE pistons?...For sure. SRP's may if they are nitrous specific pistons. Call them and ask. They will have no problem telling you if they won't as they will then refer you to the JE pistons. But my thought is why take a chance as the cost difference isn't enough to worry about.

x10. I broke 4 sets of SRP's in 1 year before switching to Ross and haven't had a problem since.

I blew a hole in two of them with a 200 shot. It did hold for about 20 passes, fuel was 11.3 to 1.
