i did it on my old car so hard i was taking it for a taest drive and didnt have my console screwed down and it poped out of gear and knocked my console over and i was scared to death but it still was fine. Now i got a auto lol!! forget all the shifting, just floor it and steer lol!!

dont worry about it, with the factory rev limiter set at 5886 (if im not mistaken), and this is still at a point to give you a certain amount of safety and you weren't even near that

just dont mechanically over rev it by trying to shift to 3rd and hit first! then you'll have something to worry about

ive hit second before when i was going for fourth and ended up bouncing off the rev limiter at 6300 as the car slow itself down by instantly losing traction. ive done that 3 times, and then i got the short throw shifter, problem solved. trust me, you have nothing to worry about

I run my 355 LT1 to 6500 WOT before it gets into gear. Shift points are set to 6050RPM but by the time it shifts it actually hits around 6500ish.

You will be okay. Man LS1 *** for revving. My buddy redlines his at like 7200 all day and it loves it. Sad thing is it seems to keep making power up high lol.

5286, and what everyone says is the tach is off a few hundred (yet mine is dead on oddly enough).
