Yes. You should only have one though. Unhook the exhaust from the back of the cat. Insert a very long screwdriver or chisel of some sort, and hammer away.Try to dig the pieces out with the screwdriver, if you can't simply start the car (it will blow them out). I had to do this process 3 or 4 times til it was empty. Car will sound real nice when you are done.

cut the cat out and sell it for money....take it to an exhuast shop and have them weld a test pipe in for u....a hollow cat makes the exhaust note sound like trash IMO

Yes, you will have no SES or problems after taking the cat out. Don't gut it, sell it. Pretty good money for them, just go to the WTB section and you'll find the guys buying them.

It will NOT throw a code. It WILL pass a visual state inspection with the hollowed out cat. How it sounds is a matter of preference. I ran my hollowed cat with stock exhaust manifolds, and stock cat-back, I thought it sounded great. I then installed a magnaflow cat-back, and it still sounded great.

Your car will only have sensors before the cat, hollowing the cat will not throw any codes but it will not pass the sniffer test if your state has that. IMO i wouldnt gut the cat, it makes it sound like crap and you wont gain any power if any. Just put a test straight pipe in its place or put a cutout in if you want it louder

Mine was gutted with a flowmaster it and completely changed the tone. It would rattle everything within about a 50 yard radius. Had a very resonate tone. I thought it sounded great. My old highschool had the old old pane windows and it rattled every one of them everyday.

Default cat

i wud sell the cat and with that money buy a cutout, full exhaust systems cost alot of money just for a nice sound and add alot of weight. I think cut outs are the way to go on a street car, for that matter leave the stock exhaust and put in a cut out minus the cat!

also look into magnaflow hiflo cats, really woke up my flowbastard, made it louder and gave it little deeper tone, and no drone... until i open the cutout!

I rocked the Magnaflow with my hollowed out cat, loved it. I have a question for some of the other guys in here. What muffler shops would actually remove a cat from a street car and knowingly weld in a test pipe? That's a really big no-no. I mean i'm sure it happens here and there, but your local Midas isn't gonna do that.

when you live in a state that doesnt do emissions testing, how would it be illegal? wisonsin doesnt even do inspections....you should see some of the cars on the street in that state. its nothing to see the exhaust manifold through the fender of a truck....and body panels flapping as they drive the vehicle down the road.

LOL, I guess I live in the wrong state! NY is kinda strict, not too bad though like California.
