well i decided to get 1.6 rr a while back, and i havent got them on the motor yet or in the car so i cant tell you if they helped, but its becoming more and more expensive. first i was just gonna slap some cheap proform ones on, then decided to get some nice ones like the comp cams pro magnums ($300) so they would last, then i had to get lt4 valvesprings and retainers ($55), found out tonight that i need matching spring seats ($20), gonna go ahead and replace the valve seals ($20), and the other day i found out that the poly locks wont fit under the valve covers i had, so i spent $165 on some nice sheet metal aluminum ones. so at this point im up to about $500 for less than 10 hp, starting to wonder if it was worth it lol

Depends a lot on what you plan to do with the car really...If you plan on leaving it a bolt on car you would be fine with some SA 1.6rr on the stock 3/8 stud. If you plan on possibly doing a cam/head swap in the future you might as well go with some NSA 1.6rr on the upgraded 7/16 stud. They are more stable at higher RPM's the the extra cost is minimal. You would need the new 7/16 rocker studs and gmpp guide plates and some hardened pushrods. The extra piece of mind is worth it to me.

If you are going to be putting money into your valvetrain you should do it right. Get a set of Comp Pro Mags or the Crane golds. they may be a little more expensive than proform or whatever else is out there, but the extra money you are paying is for quality. Since you are going to be swapping rockers, you really need to swap the springs too. the stock springs are just barely enough for the stock valvetrain setup, let alone if you put anything more demanding on there. But like Falcon said, before you go diving in decide what your plans are for the car. If its gonna be a track beast then def go with NSA rockers...if its just gonna be street use then you'll be fine with the SA rockers. hope this helps

The ratio of a rocker arm is determined by the distance between the centerline of the pivot point to the centerline of the roller tip (or area of contact with the valve stem), divided by the centerline of the pushrod to the centerline of the pivot point.
